Richardson’s “Sublime in the Nervous System” uses cognitive science as a method to discuss British romantic poetry from six aspects: the sublime of romantic poetry belongs to the sublime of physiology, which is different from the transcendent loft of Kant; romanticism Although the poet has created many landscape poems with clear images, it also has the anti-image side; romantic poems use more utterances, and from a cognitive point of view, the style is still normal; “Emma” The novel describes a number of physical movements that can be read with the psychic theory; romantic incest is a product of the interaction between the animal’s evolutionary instinct and the cultural context of the time; romantic poetry is very concerned with adult women’s use of “mother tongue” "Language, reflecting the conflict between men and women in the awakening psychology. Richardson reasonably combines literature with science and places it in specific historical contexts, demonstrating the superb ability to apply knowledge across disciplines.
