《数学课程标准》强调,学生是教学活动的主体,要给学生以足够的时间和空间去操作、观察、猜想……“有效的数学学习活动不能靠单纯地依赖模仿和记忆,动手实践、自主探索与合作交流是学生学习数学的重要方式。”小学低年级学生年龄小,生活经验少,感性知识不丰富,理解抽象、枯燥的数学概念有一定的难度;加上学生有意注意的时间短,学习活动难以持久地顺利展开。所以在教学中,教师要为学生提供丰富的观察、操作的机会,创设让学生参与操作活动的条件,来增加学生的感性认识,积累感性经验;设计有趣的游戏活动,激发学生参与学习的热情。让学生在“动”中感知,在“动”中领悟,在“动”中发挥创新的潜能,在“动”中激发学习的兴趣,培养学生的动手操作能力、观察能力及合作意识,引导学生自主学习。
