在这里,长跑是当地人的生活方式,更是他们与命运抗争的资本。和来肯尼亚的绝大部分动物SAFARI观光客不同,来埃尔多雷特的多是身材修长结实的长跑运动员,零星的还有我们这样的长跑爱好者。这个海拔2400米的肯尼亚西部高原之城,是肯尼亚乃至世界最著名的长跑之乡,肯尼亚杰出的长跑运动员不少都来自这里,这里还曾经诞生了40多名世界级长跑冠军。在埃尔多雷特,长跑是当地人的生活方式,更是他们与命运抗争的资本。
Here, long-distance running is the way of life of local people, but also their capital of struggle with destiny. Unlike most SAFARI visitors to Kenya, Eldoret is mostly long and slender long-distance runners, sporadic and long-distance lovers like us. The 2,400-meter-high city of Kenya’s western plateau is home to Kenya and even the world’s most famous long-distance runners. Many of Kenya’s outstanding long-distance runners are from here and more than 40 world-class long distance champions were born there. In Eldoret, long-distance running is a way of life for locals, and it is their capital that fights fate.
