In 1919, Mr. Sun Yat-sen proposed in the “Founding of the People’s Republic of China” that nine major commercial ports should be built along the coast of mainland China. Now one of the nine major commercial ports included in the Shuidong Port where the Shuidong Port Company under the Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical Company is located. Located on the South China Sea, with its backdrop to the greater southwest, Shuidong Port is the main hub of the Asia Pacific Economic Circle’s waterway.
