《圣经·启示录》里,上帝说:世界终将毁灭,当最终的时刻来到,四位可怕的末日骑士便会骑着喷火的战马降临凡间。死亡、瘟疫、战争和饥荒是他们的名,他们用手中的武器制造灾难,宣扬神的愤怒……纵观人类历史,瘟疫,像噩梦一样纠缠不去,在所有的时代都投下混乱和死亡的阴影。鼠疫、伤寒、天花、sars……每一个恐怖名字的背后,都有成千上万的亡灵在辗转哀号。对人类来说,瘟疫最可怕的地方不在于它毁灭的威力——战争一样也会杀人盈野,但每个人都知道,战争终将过去,家园可以重建;而瘟疫最可怕的地方却在于未知,没有人知道瘟疫怎么发生,没有人知道瘟疫怎么治疗,更没有人知道瘟疫何时结束……每当瘟疫肆虐,人类最珍视的东西——健康、生命、文明,就都和心中的希望一样,瞬间土崩瓦解。当受害者的尸体塞满大街小巷,腐烂发臭无人问津的时候,希望就会从人们心里消失。我们不知道自己正在面对什么,不知道自己的敌人是谁——这才是真正的恐怖。再长的噩梦也有醒来的时候。也许,我们曾经恐惧过,但肯定不是今天!今天,科学的进步让我们了解了自己的敌人,我们了解瘟疫,我们便能战胜瘟疫!当天花、白喉等等恶魔都被人类彻底打败的时候,又有一个古老的“恶魔”蠢蠢欲动。这个“恶魔”就是——狂犬病!
