The authors used the Coulter counter Splus II to measure the mean platelet volume (MPV) and the percentage of platelets to platelets to study the relationship between these parameters and the bleeding tendency in 57 patients with unselected thrombocytopenia. The number of platelets in these patients was <50 x 10 ~ 9/1 including 26 cases of bone marrow disease / chemotherapy (leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumor), 18 cases of cardiac surgery, 2 cases of other surgery, 2 cases of hypersplenism and 9 cases of infection . No bleeding tendency, mild (dry purpura) or severe (wet purpura) 3 categories. The meter will have a volume of 2-20fl micro
