“,”Objective:To investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on postoperative quality of life, ulcer healing, and adverse reaction in patients with varicose veins of lower extremities and active ulcers. Methods:A total of 96 patients with varicose veins of lower extremities and active ulcers admitted to Interventional Vascular Surgery Department of the People’s Hospital of Langfang City from January 2017 to January 2018 were enrolled as study subjects and randomly divided into control group and observation group, each with 48 cases. Both two groups received intra-arterial drug infusion combined with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty. After operation, the control group received routine dressing change and nursing intervention, while the observation group received hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the basis of the treatment in the control group. The clinical efficacy, ulcer healing rate, and adverse reaction rate were compared between the two groups. Results:The total clinical efficacy rate was 93.75% in the observation group, while that in the control group was 66.67%. The difference was statistically significant (n P<0.01). After treatment, the scores of all dimensions of quality of life were increased in both two groups (n P<0.05), moreover, the scores of physiological functions, role-physical, bodily pain, vitality, and role-emotional in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (n P<0.05). After treatment, the ulcer areas in both two groups were reduced (n P<0.05), moreover, the ulcer area in the observation group was significantly smaller than that in the control group (n P<0.05). There were 3 earache cases in the observation group, and the total incidence rate of adverse reactions was 6.25%, which was significantly different from that (18.75%) in the control group (n P<0.05).n Conclusion:Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective in treating patients with varicose veins of lower extremities and active ulcers by promoting ulcer healing, reducing the adverse reaction rate, and improving patients’ quality of life.
