《村边地头》专栏,是我们报纸反映农村生活、让报纸走进农民家庭,成为他们爱不释手和不可缺少的精神食粮而创办的。专栏每周一期,每次约2000来字,把指导性、思想性、知识性、趣味性融为一体,收到了领导、读者和办报人三满意的效果。专栏开办一年多来,我们坚持做到这么几条: 一是短小。农村干部和农民没有时间去看大块文章,所以,专栏中一篇稿件一二百字,最长不超过400字,喘口气就能念完一篇,喝口水也能读完一块。在2000字的专栏内每期刊登15至20篇。湘乡市一位农民来信说:“短得好,短得巧,一袋烟能读十来条!”二是实在、实惠。所谓实在实惠,有两条标准:事实准确,读了有用。每篇稿件坚持实事求是,既报喜也报忧,讲内心话、大实话,不吹“牛皮”,不空口打哇哇。农民说:“《村边地头》里讲了我们要讲的话,让人相信。”有用,就是想农民所想,如果登的与农民不相干,就叫没有用。我们每一期都有农村干部、农民急需的科学技术、致富信息、政策法令

The so-called real benefits, there are two criteria: the facts are accurate, read useful. Each manuscript adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts, both a good news and a sad thing, tell the truth, tell the truth, do not blow “cowhide” and do not make a big splash.
