From 28 to 29 March 2000, epidemiologists and microbiologists met in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, to discuss the emerging, reproductive and drug-resistant infectious diseases in Central and Eastern Europe. Delegates from the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Yugoslavia. Apart from representatives from the United States and the United Kingdom, other Western countries did not send their staff to attend.
