The hot-rolling mill currently has three walking beam furnaces imported from Japan’s Nippon Steel and started production in December 1978. Each furnace is equipped with a metal heat exchanger, the air can be preheated to 450 ℃. In order to make full use of the waste heat, in 1979, we designed and ordered three waste heat boilers based on the calculation of waste heat resources provided by Japan. After the furnace is put into operation, the hot rolling mill has made many improvements to the furnace equipment and technology in order to save energy and the heat load is reduced. Therefore, the quantity and temperature of the exhaust gas are both lower than those provided by the Japanese side. Since the success of the slab hot-rolled test in 1984, the hot-lining ratio and the hot-lining temperature have gradually increased. In order to increase the thermal efficiency of the furnace, the factory also plans to further add air
