1997年初我厂55m~3高炉大修。因炉底有五年多未彻底检修,所以这次决定要拆到炉基的耐热砼。但打炉到死铁层时却遇到一个难题,成锅底状占据整个炉缸80%以上截面积的死铁层,人工打了几天几乎无进展。以前我们采取了回避矛盾的办法,尽量清理在铁层周围的残铁与炭捣体,然后在其上面作新的炉底。这次经反复论证一致认为,修一次炉极不容易,不应留下隐患而影响新炉衬的寿命。于是弄了一台Z12K的摇臂钻进炉缸,成十字形分布每隔200mm钻一个深为
