In the manufacture of polymer material products, products often have residual mechanical stress. As we all know, any stress will lead to unbalanced system state, reducing the performance of products. Heat treatment is one way to reduce the residual stress. Heat helps to stress redistribute and relax, restoring the system to equilibrium. The article is heat treated at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the polymer. However, there are a number of characteristics in this method of stress reduction; the treatment takes a long time and the polymer may undergo undesirable changes in its structure, such as crystallization, before it is heated to the glass transition temperature.
