不同的城市具有不同的地理区位、自然要素、资源禀赋、发展模式和产业结构,这些地域特征造就了城市特有的自然生态空间形态,同时也形成了各具地方特色的城市文化。对地域特征的尊重是城市进行生态区规划建设的基点。以德州市南部生态片区规划为例,疏理并提炼其人文、水系、场地和产业等地域特征,将其融入城市生态区景观环境打造、生态格局构建、规划布局、旅游开发和场地设计等方面,从而塑造具有自身特色的空间环境,充分发挥其生态主导的综合效益。
