US Newspapers and Periodicals Auditing firms announced the latest U.S. press rankings on October 30, 2000, with the top three being USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. USA Today took the top spot with 1.777 million daily circulation, while The Wall Street Journal finished the day at 1.627 million. This ranking is based on statistics on the circulation of U.S. newspapers from April to September 2000. The current circulation of “USA Today” increased 1.1 percentage points over the fall of 1999.
