生成性教学是指在教学活动中会涌现出许多意想不到的信息和问题,教师不能机械地按原计划确定的一种思路进行教学,而是应凭借自身的素质,根据学生的实际情况,把教学中的人的、物的、精神的诸多因素有机结合起来,对之灵活地控制,积极引导教学活动不断更新,生成新的超出原计划的教学流程。正如叶澜教授所说的那样:“教师只要思想上真正顾及了学生多方面成长、顾及了生命活动的多面性和师生共同活动中多种组合和发展方式的可能,就能发现课堂教学具有生成性特征”。
