Geotextiles are a new type of material used for geotechnical work in the late 1960s. For more than a decade, it has been used in super-soft ground reinforcement, drainage systems, retaining structures, port engineering, roads, railways, and protection of bank slopes from the hydro-erosion of river water or waves. He also held two international geotextile seminars in Paris in April 1977 in Paris, France, and in the United States in February 1982, which further attracted the attention of the international engineering community. In some of our country’s roads, railways (such as a section of the railway subgrade in Maoming, Guangzhou) have also been reinforced with geotextiles. In recent years, we have put in a certain port to fill up the cofferdam foundation.
