宋太祖文化水平不高,但他比较喜欢阅读兵书、史书以及《金刚经》。奠定了宋代“文治”国策的基础,诏命中央政府部门使用雕版出版方式出版了一批重要书籍,开宋代书籍出版兴盛之端。切合宋初政治需要,主要为政书、法律书、史书、佛书、儒经、医书、人事管理书及礼书。其中最大、最重要、最具文化价值的一部书就是雕版佛教《开宝藏》。严厉禁书,依法治理,奠定了宋代禁书政策的基础。
Song Taizu’s cultural level is not high, but he prefers reading military records, history books and the Diamond Sutra.
