踏郎是一种优良的保土固沙灌木,大都分布在我国内蒙和西北地区的固定、半固定沙丘上,而在内蒙大面积的流动沙地上和流动沙地的附近也有分布,用其固定沙丘。 我所于1982年,从陕西省榆林地区引进,当年育苗,1983年在石质山地上造林,现在已生长5年了,林中早已郁闭并开花结果了。据试验观察,踏郎在石质山地生长状况好于沙地,高生长量是沙地上生长量的0.5～1倍。踏郎的水土保持及经济效益都很高。
