《诸病源候论》是我国第一部论述病因、病理与证候学的医学专著。书成于隋代大业六年(公元610年),距今已经1300多年了,而其科学价值却依然十分显著。作者巢元方,生平不详,约生于公元6世纪至7世纪初期,隋炀帝大业元年(公元605年)至十二年(公元616年)间出任太医博士和太医令,是隋代一位造诣颇深的医学家。以他为首撰著的《诸病源候论》一书,不论对当世或后世,乃至对日本等国,影响都很大。巢氏十分重视摄生保健,对性保健亦有精辟的论述,非常值得
