The use of a new generation of heavy artillery systems and their demonstrated advantages have led the Soviet Union to place greater emphasis on heavy artillery and dedicated artillery units. The Soviet Union has turned its attention to the use of a large, heavy, long-range artillery after continuing to emphasize camp-scale “divisions” and even the idea of strengthening the camp as a united service.
