Jacob Grimm (1785-1863) and Wilhelm Carl Grimm (1786-1859), famous 19th-century humanities writers in Germany, are world-famous for the enduring artistic charm of “Fairy Tales for Children and Family” . In China, people’s understanding of the Green Brothers is also mainly confined to Green’s fairy tales. Little is known about the pioneering and historic contributions Green Brothers, especially Jacob Green, have made in the fields of law, Germanic folk literature and Germanic language and literature. This article will show how he explored the origin of German national culture and reconstructed German national culture and Germanic national spirit by reviewing the research achievements and academic ideas of Jacob Green in these fields. These precious human cultural heritages have had a significant impact not only on the relevant disciplines in Germany and throughout Europe in the nineteenth century, but they have continued to this day.
