During our study at MTIRA, we visited several universities, research institutes, machinery factories and machine tool manufacturing plants. This article intends to introduce some of the four factories that have established a Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS). Two of them are machine tool manufacturers, relying on FMS processing shaft, disk and box parts; one is the ship’s main shaft seal factory, the use of FMS processing larger size disk parts; the other is a mining machinery factory, Processing box type, gear box and plate parts.
