After China and the EU reached an agreement on some of China’s textile exports to Europe on June 11, Hong Kong’s Ta Kung Pao published an editorial on June 13: “China has made a major sacrifice for the world.” It is not important for whom to sacrifice. The fact is that this round of textile competition, China “sacrificed.” It is an industry, some products setbacks, so that “Made in China” hidden dangers unprecedented clear. The United States and EU are suspicious of the violation of WTO’s fairness in launching a Chinese textile product. However, China relies too much on exports and the rapid growth of exports is bound to elude enemies on all fronts. What’s more, we still lack the bargaining power and clout to negotiate with others.
