教案,是指外国传教士和中国教民与中国普通民众和官府之间的冲突事件中,最终通过中外官员协商,以行政、司法和外交手段解决的案件。教案的构成要件需要满足以下条件:当事人一方必须是外国传教士或者中国教民,另一方可能是中国官府或者普通民众;其次民教之间矛盾、冲突和纠葛的解决途径通过中外官员的协商,运用行政、司法和外交的方式来处理和解决。
