由于俄罗斯和独联体国家与欧洲其他国家铁路线路轨距不同,导致了在欧洲大陆桥运行的旅客列车,特别是货物列车直通国际联运组织工作的复杂化。过境运输的货物需要在国境站换装,既耗费了时间和增加必需的设备,又延误了货物的送达。据统计,一列车因货物换装和完成其他相关作业的延误时间达到2.5天。为了解决这一问题,德国铁路技术研究中心和DB Cargo货物运输公司合作研制了RafilⅤ型车辆变轨系统,能够保证车辆通过不同轨距国境站直通运行。该系统包括可调节活动轮对,以及用于这种轮对变换轨距的装置。
Due to the different track distances between the rail lines of Russia and CIS countries and those of other European countries, the complexity of the work of passing through the Continental Bridge passenger trains, especially freight trains, has been complicated. Transit shipments need to be refitted at border crossings, consuming both time and equipment and delays in the delivery of goods.
