健康的学术批评是学术发展不可或缺的。真理是在不断的争鸣、辩驳中显现出来的;谬误、伪科学也只有通过揭露,才会显示其本来面目,并为大家所认识。但是,由于“文化大革命”玷污厂“批评”的名声,加上我国传统中“息事宁人”、“多栽花,少挑刺”等习俗的影响,致使我国学术界极少开展当面锣、对面鼓的学术批评。批评的空缺,不能不说是我国学术界抄袭剽窃、假冒伪劣、自吹自擂等不良学风和丑恶现象泛滥的原因之一。正因为此,当我读到北京师范大学语言学家伍铁平教授的这部学术批评文集时,才会在惊喜之余生出对伍先生由衷的钦佩乃至敬意。
Healthy academic criticism is indispensable to academic development. Truth is constantly emerging from controversy and refutation. Fallacies and pseudo-sciences only reveal their true colors and are known to everyone. Because of this, when I read this essay on academic criticism from Professor Wu Tieping, a linguist at Beijing Normal University, I would like to express my heartfelt admiration and respect to Mr. Ng during his surprise.
