Among the list of the first batch of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering published under the conspicuous title is the name of a scientist familiar with the earthquake engineering community and the disaster reduction community at home and abroad. He is the founder of engineering earthquake observation and analysis in China and the international leader in this discipline. He is an internationally renowned expert in seismic engineering, a member of the CSTD for 10 years and a researcher at the Institute of Engineering Mechanics of the State Seismological Bureau, Xie Lili.
