王尔德是英国戏剧文坛巨匠之一,戏剧语言的诗意性风格特点在其喜剧语言中格外突出,主要表现为:语音层的头韵、首尾韵和尾韵;词汇层的修饰语;句法层的对偶、平行句和隽语,这为翻译带来了不少困难。在众多的王尔德喜剧译作中,张南峰和余光中的译文颇具代表性,他们费劲心思采用的各种翻译策略,如形式对等、句式完全对应、词义引申、汉语四字格的使用等,为再现戏剧语言诗意性风格特点提供了很好的借鉴和指导。
