李自成,字鸿基,又称李闯王。陕西延安府米脂县人,是明末农民起义军最主要的领袖之一。崇祯三年,李白成在陕西米脂揭竿而起,聚众起义,后来又率众投奔了当地的另一股农民军高迎祥。崇祯九年,高迎祥被俘之后,李自成被推为闯王,成为明末农民起义军的领袖。先后攻陷了很多明朝州府,并进入四川,击杀了明朝总兵侯良柱。崇祯十年的冬天,李自成率众围攻成都失败,后又在梓潼遭到明朝总兵左光先的伏击,几乎全军覆灭,李自成率部将刘宗敏等十八骑逃入陕西的深山之中。
