孝是中国文化里特有的一种表现,长久的存在于中国的历史之中,是构建于血缘关系上的一种特殊的情感表达。“百善孝为先”传统中国文化,在某种意义上可称为孝的文化。传统中国社会,更是奠基于孝道之上的社会,这也是中华文明区别于其他文明的重要标志。在西方,人们讲究独立,当子女成年后一般不和父母一起居住。但是在中国,养儿防老的观念一直都存在。赡养年迈的父母是子女应尽的义务,也是晚辈对长辈感恩之情的一种自然流露。
Filial piety is a peculiar manifestation of Chinese culture.
