Air France Space Research Institute has designed and developed an airborne infrared measurement system for scientific research. The system consists of a managed computer and two scientific instruments (a cryogenic refrigeration infrared multi-band camera and a cryogenic refrigeration infrared spectrometer). This article describes the various components of the system and highlights the design of cryogenic infrared cameras. Infrared cameras are designed to include instrument control, data acquisition, IRIG time stamping, and target capture and tracking. This article also describes the design of two Ethernet communications that connect various parts of the measurement system.
