全国职工职业技能大赛之所以能取得这么好的成效,主要在于:一是坚持把开展竞赛活动与服务科学发展紧密结合起来,着眼于全面建设小康社会的时代主题,围绕转变经济发展方式、调整经济结构、建设创新型企业、创新型国家的大局来开展活动。二是坚持把促进企业发展与提高职工素质紧密结合起来,不断创新活动载体、完善竞赛机制,增强活动的针对性、实效性,工种设置和比赛内容紧扣时代脉搏、紧跟技术发展前沿,紧贴企业生产和职工技术素质提高的实际。三是坚持把造就高技能人才与普遍提高职工技能水平紧密结合起来,既注重培养选拔高技能人才,发挥示范导向作用,又普遍开展技术比赛、技能培训和岗位练兵,全面提高职工队伍的整体素质。四是坚持把开展群众性技能竞赛与实施国家人才队伍建设总体规划紧密结合起来,切实加强领导,整合资源,调动各方面的积极性,形成工作合力,共同促进职工队伍素质建设。——中共中央政治局委员、中华全国总工会主席王兆国
