这是被称作中国第一部亲子电影的艺术片,影片主要描写的是父子之间的亲情,因此看完这部影片很容易让人想起几年前在国内大受欢迎的电影《妈妈,再爱我一次》。的确,这两部影片都可归入亲子电影这一类,影片中主人公的命运都会引起观众的共鸣,但《背起爸爸上学》与《妈妈,再爱我一次》很大不同的一点是影片在情感的处理上并不很强烈,动情而不煽情,导演力求以一种平和含蓄的表达方式来进行感情交流。影片中两位主要人物石娃和父亲都是不善言辞的人,很少有语言交流,更多的是从他们生活中的举动去体会相互的关怀。影片中没有出现过一次抱头痛哭的场面,主人公石娃哭的场面也很少出现。但人物坎坷的命运,父子间情感的撞击仍然能够震撼人们的心灵。影片就是通过相对的平淡刻画了石娃与父亲间生死相依、感人心魄的亲情。
