1966年以东光为母本,富士为父本杂交育成。1973年开始结果,1978年命名为“千秋”,1979年发表,1980年正式登记编号。平均单果重240～270克,个头中等,圆形,果形指数0.9。萼洼稍狭浅。果实底色绿黄,有褐红色条纹,色浓淡适中。果皮中厚—稍薄,果点较小,稍稀,果锈少,果面光滑。梗洼部位内不着色,残留着绿色,是其较明显的一个特征。果肉黄白色,硬度中等,肉质致密,汁多,可溶性固形物13～14％,比同期成熟的品种含糖量高,苹果酸含量0.5％左右,酸度适中,爽口。果实9月下旬成熟,其贮藏性高于同期成熟的品种。果实的裂果发生在梗洼部,发生轻重因年而异,1978年裂果多达36％,1979年裂果
