核能的发现和利用与蒸汽机的发明、电的发现和应用一样,是人类历史上伟大的技术革命。它已经引起了生产力的变革,并推动其它各门科学技术的发展,这个进程今后还将以更大的广度和深度发展。我国自解放以来,党和政府十分重视原子能事业的发展。通过二十多年的努力,我们已经建成了一批核科学与工程的研究单位,建设了一批核工业基地,培养了一批科学技术人才,开展了核技术在多方面的应用,从而形成了一个比较完整的核科学研究及工程体系,对国民经济建设和国防建设作出了贡献,为进一步发展提供了良好的基础。
