2002年,全国电大共有中央级广播电视大学1所;省级广播电视大学(省、自治区、直辖市和计划单列市及独立设置的广播电视大学)44所;地市级广播电视大学分校(电大分校和由省级电大直接管理的工作站)930所,其中电大分校679所,工作站251所;县级广播电视大学工作站(电大分校管理的工作站)2021所;全国共设有教学班(点)22237个。
