茫茫宇宙,无垠无际,星移斗转,深邃神秘。地球,这个孕育着万千生灵的庞大自然天体,蕴藏着巨大的资源财富,也发生过无数次火山、地震灾害。它的形成、它的变化、它的未来,一切都是关系着人类生存、延续的科学奥秘。恐怕从远古的早期人类到今天拥有先进科学技术手段的现代智人,都从来没有停止过对地球的疑惑、思考和探索。这样,就诞生了人类有史以来最早的一门自然科学——地质学。在我国,中国科学院就创办了一所专门研究地壳运动演化及成矿规律的科研机构——长沙大地构造研究所,在该所近40年的发展历程中,以著名地质科学家陈国达院士独创的地洼学说,即活化构造及成矿理论体系为基础,勇于创新,重于实践,为我国地质科学基础
