企业存储的未来是什么?存储区域网络(SAN)已经成为业界的共识。据Gartner Group统计,2000年SAN在全球整个存储市场中占16％,而2005年将达到52％,从中国市场看,2000年SAN占整个存储市场的8％,而2005年将达到42％。因此我们有理由相信,SAN将会成为主流的存储技术。 SAN是独立于服务器网络系统之外,几乎拥有无限存储能力的高速存储网络。这种网络采用高速的光纤通道作为传输媒体,以FC(Fiber Channel.光通道)+SCSI的应用协议作为存储访问协议。
What is the future of enterprise storage? Storage area networks (SANs) have become the industry consensus. According to the statistics of the Gartner Group, in 2000 SAN accounted for 16% of the total storage market in the world and 52% in 2005. From the Chinese market, 2000 SAN accounted for 8% of the entire storage market, and in 2005 it will reach 42%. So we have reason to believe that SAN will become the mainstream storage technology. SANs are high-speed storage networks that have virtually unlimited storage capacity independent of server network systems. This network uses high-speed Fiber Channel as a transmission medium, using FC (Fiber Channel) + SCSI protocol as a storage access protocol.
