选择与尊严“是中国首个提倡”尊严死“的公益网站。2006年2月7日上午,”选择与尊严“的团队在北京开了一个名为:”掌握生命归途“的讨论会,这是他们对如何通过建立”生前预嘱(Living will),在生命尽头保持尊严的第一次讨论。会后他们有了自己的名字:选择与尊严(Choices&Dignity)。“选择与尊严”并不是提倡法律意义上的安乐死。他们只是建议成年人在疾病和生命的终末期,选择不使用徒然延长死亡过程的生命支持系统,如人工呼吸器、心肺复苏术等等。这种建议并不反对或贬低其他种类的选择。“
