《数学综合与实践活动》依据《全日制义务教育数学课程标准》和《义务教育课程标准实验教科书·数学》(苏科版)编写,教材不仅有利于引导学生进入数学学习的实践中去,而且在编写内容上,既有生动有趣的数学探究性活动,又有丰富内涵的研究性课题学习。该教材的内涵是:以动手操作为主的数学实验达到实践能力的提升,其出发点在于启发学生动脑思维为主的思辨研究,以目标教学为导向,让学生亲历实验、操作、猜想、验证等过程,实现发现、提出、分析和解决问题的结果。其根本内涵是源于实践而高于实践。
