母生(Homalium hainanense Gagnep)又名红花天料木,系海南特类用材树种之一。干材通直高大,生长较快,材质优良,用途广泛,为珍贵工业用材。解放后,随着林业事业的发展,母生逐步由零星栽植扩大到成片造林。目前母生人工林已遍及海南各地。大陆亦有少数成片林分,生长良好,很受群众欢迎。随着林龄的增长,郁闭后的幼林,已逐渐出现分化和生势减弱等现象,亟待进行抚育间伐,以调整林分密度,改善林木生长环境,促进林木继续快速生长。但对母生这个树种如何间伐?强度大小?何时开始?间隔期长短等等问题,还没有一套完整的经验。为此,我们于1973年开展了母生幼林间伐的多点试验,现将几年来的观察初步小结如下
Mother (Homalium hainanense Gagnep), also known as safflower Timber wood, is one of Hainan special timber species. Dry wood straight tall, fast growth, good quality, wide range of uses, precious industrial timber. After the liberation, with the development of forestry, the mother gradually expanded from sporadic planting into film afforestation. At present, mother plantation has spread all over Hainan. A small number of Chinese have also become well-established and well-populated. With the increase of forest age, the young stands after the closed canyons have gradually appeared the phenomenon of differentiation and weakening of the potential. In order to adjust the stand density, improve the forest growth environment and promote the rapid growth of forest trees, there is an urgent need for tending and thinning. However, there is not a complete set of experience on how to cut off the species of the mother, how long and when to start, how long to wait between intervals, and so on. To this end, we conducted a multi-point trial of young mother plantation in 1973. The preliminary observations of the past few years are as follows
