In recent months, there have been controversies between China and Japan over island disputes, alarming the neighboring countries. But there is even more disturbing trend under this argument, which is that many Asian countries are preparing for the war. According to the report of the Stockholm International Institute for Peace, the amount of arms subscriptions by Southeast Asian countries almost doubled between 2005 and 2009 and it is expected that this boom will continue in 2011. For the West and Russia, Asia is becoming the gold warrior for arms sales. One of the reasons why Asian countries have ordered large quantities of arms is that they are old and armaments, but another, more important, cause for concern. Some of the most unstable and most aggressive countries in the region have an increasing military influence on the government.
