科研工作的三大支柱之一,医学实验动物学水平的高低,是衡量现代生物医学科学研究程度的重要标志。近年来,随着实验动物科学及相关科学的迅速发展,以及国际学术交流的加强,国家对实验动物科学日益重视,医学界也普遍认为,医学实验动物的合格与否,将直接影响到研制新药、科研课题完成的质量。有鉴于此,卫生部明确做出决定,将对今后的科研课题申报、成果评定、新药审批,以及其它必须的工作中,审查其是否拥有医学实验动物合格证。
