By reading people can deepen understanding of the world, and can receive many different information to help people continue to enrich their spiritual world, and reading ability is also an essential skill of people in the community to survive and develop. Therefore, in higher vocational colleges, cultivating students’ English reading ability has become a very important point in the content of public English teaching in higher vocational colleges. This article will analyze the application of discourse analysis in the teaching of public English reading in higher vocational education so that students’ English reading ability will be improved continuously.
