Greatly reread Liang Qichao’s “Emancipation of Mind,” a piece of Chinese modern history has many times the trend of emancipation of the mind, every time people update their ideas and concepts, promote social reform, so that Chinese history has been a huge leap forward. Without the spread of the democratic ideology from the Hundred Days to the Revolution of 1911, the emperor would not roll over the Dragon’s Throne. Without the occurrence and development of the May Fourth New Culture Movement, there would be no occurrence, development and victory of the Chinese new democratic revolution. Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth, and there will be no great achievements in reform and opening up today. It can be said that every step of China’s approach to modern history has been closely linked to the emancipation of the mind. In the future, Chinese society must further develop and move forward with the further emancipation of its thinking. In this issue, Zhu Shangtong introduced us to Liang Qichao’s “Emancipation of Mind” and expounds how he felt when he read the article. Liang Wen written in 1919, more than 80 years later, however, this article is still brilliant shine, reread.
