VBCI步兵战车是应法国陆军的需求研制开发的新一代步兵战车,是履带式步兵战车AMX-10P的后续替代车型。VBCI是法语Vehicule Blinde de Combat d'Infanterie的缩写,在英语中被称为Infantry Combat Armoured Vehicle,即步兵战车(ICV)。 研制开发VBCI步兵战车的是名不见经传的法国SATORI军用车辆公司。它位于地面武器工业集团(GIAT)的所在地SATORI,是由半官方半民间性质的GIAT集团和雷诺汽车工业公司(RVI)为了研制开发VBCI步兵战车而在几年前共同出资创建的。因此,人们会自然而然地认为VBCI步兵战车的装备会受到GIAT集团的影响,而底盘则会受到雷诺汽车工业公司的影响。
The VBCI infantry fighting vehicle is a new generation of infantry fighting vehicles developed at the request of the French Army. It is a follow-up alternative to the crawler infantry fighting vehicle AMX-10P. VBCI is the acronym for the French Vehicule Blinde de Combat d'Infanterie, known in English as the Infantry Combat Armored Vehicle, the Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV). Research and development of VBCI infantry fighting vehicles is unknown to the French SATORI military vehicles company. Its SATORI, home of the GIAT, was founded a couple of years ago by the semi-official semi-private GIAT Group and Renault Automotive Industries (RVI) to develop the VBCI infantry fighting vehicle. It is therefore natural to assume that the equipment of the VBCI infantry fighting vehicle will be affected by the GIAT Group while the chassis will be affected by Renault Automotive Industries.
