The US Naval Institute’s Passive Acoustic Transient Detection project uses signal-processing-based signal-processing methods to extract signal characteristics and thus develop software to detect and analyze the acoustic characteristics of aircraft and surface warships. Whether ships, boats, airplanes or submarines, they have special acoustic characteristics (such as water ingress, release of anchor chains and mines) at the time of mine work.
