在我国现阶段,人们提起图书馆员往往不以为然。然而在美国,不具备硕士学位的人是不可能成为图书馆员的。也就是说,在欧美发达国家,图书馆员不再被作为一个二线的后勤人员对待,相反他们需要具备非常丰厚的专业知识,还要具备图书馆学的专业知识。在1979年的美国白宫图书馆工作会议上,当时的美国总统卡特已经提出:“图书馆正在成为财富的中心。”而与会者中有三分之一是图书情报人员,三分之一是政府官员,三分之一是企业家。
At this stage in our country, people often lure librarians often disagree. In the United States, however, a person who does not have a master’s degree is unlikely to become a librarian.
