科技作品是指有关科学技术方面的专著、论文、专题报告、教科书等等。科技作品的任务是清楚、准确、系统地叙述科学技术问题,不仅指出现象而且论证其规律。科技作品不追求语言的艺术化,它的基本要求是精确、简明。同其它语体相比、科技作品有三个明显的特点:术语性、单一性、符号性。科技作品的术语性是指大量运用单义的术语,含义固定,概念明确。科技作品的任务要求它在用词上严格,保证精确性,在概括现实现象,揭示概念内涵,论证事物规律性时,科学语体要运用意义精确而单一的专门术语。这些术语有很大的语体局限性,一般地说不大适用于其它语体。
Scientific and technological works refer to monographs, dissertations, special reports, textbooks, etc. on science and technology. The task of science and technology works is to clearly, accurately and systematically narrate the problems of science and technology, not only pointing out the phenomena but also demonstrating their laws. Scientific and technological works do not pursue the art of language, its basic requirement is accurate and concise. Compared with other genres, scientific and technological works have three distinct characteristics: terminology, unity, symbolic. The terminology of scientific and technological works refers to the use of a large number of terms in a single sense, the meaning is fixed, the concept is clear. The task of scientific and technological works requires that it should be rigorous in terms and precise in accuracy. When generalizing the actual phenomena, revealing the connotation of the concepts and demonstrating the regularity of things, the scientific style of the scientific works uses precise and single technical terms of meanings. These terms have great linguistic limitations, generally not suitable for other languages.
