This cytoplasmic male sterility system is based on the male sterile cytoplasm of radish found by Ogura (1968). Bannerot et al. (1974) found that the so-called cytoplasmic B.naPus and B were induced by backcross substitution. The complete male sterility of oleracea has the same effect on B. Campe-stris, B. Juncea and B.
